Our coaches

Vicky McKinnon

Head Coach Vicky has years of working as both a PE teacher and coach and is a keen sportswoman herself, representing GB at age group Duathlon.

In 2016, I set up Run Knutsford – a community running group – which regularly attracts 60 runners to the twice weekly sessions. The club includes runners of all levels of abilities and many that have been a member since embarking on the couch to 5K journey. I now enhance my run coaching with tutoring with England Athletics.

I am Head Coach at Knutsford Tri Club and also oversee the coaching of the Junior members. Along with three colleagues I have successfully run numerous duathlon events for adults and children. I regularly go into primary schools to give them mini taster sessions.

I believe that a positive outlook, along with a healthy and active lifestyle is fundamental to improving performance. No matter what your ability the focus should be on individual progress whilst having fun and enjoying your achievements.

Lynda Cook

I’m Lynda and combine coaching with a part time post for a distance education institution, having a background in human physiology.  I am an England Athlete’s Leader in Running Fitness and a Level 2 British Triathlon coach.  I lead groups of individuals (adults) on runs (road) for Macclesfield Harriers, from beginners to seasoned marathon competitors.  I coach at Knutsford Triathlon Club for both adults (taking a weekly swim session for a range of abilities) as well as juniors.

I am passionate about working with individuals to meet their potential.  I strongly believe that sport and exercise, adapted to suit, can have a positive impact on the physical and mental health of individuals. Importantly, it is all about enjoyment and fulfilment on a journey – getting the sport and exercise ‘ingredients’ right for a successful journey is down to a close professional relationship between the athlete and coach.
