Having been in education for nearly 40 years as both a student and a teacher, I always think of the start of September as a ‘fresh start,’ new year and a clean slate – more so than January 1st . It has always been a time of thinking about the year ahead and what I wish to achieve, as well as, of course, an excuse to buy new trainers!
Perhaps this ‘new beginning’ in September 2020, is more real than ever. Although many people were involved in plenty of at home fitness at the start of lockdown and eagerly utilized their one outdoor exercise session, this appears to have died off a little. Events are slowly picking up giving us all some possible targets for the coming months. Group training sessions are starting to recommence – albeit in different formats. So, there is plenty to get motivated about.
